CHILDREN OF THE WORLDS FONDATION
In 2005, Dorothy Summers helped set up Yayasan ABC Anak Dunia also known in English as Children of the World foundation.
Our goals are simple...
To help children, especially under-privileged children in Bali through education and developing a stronger sense of self, so they are able to attain the tools they require for a better and brighter future.
Children of the Worlds School & Learning Centre is a school offering a high level of Education and spoken English. It follows the British Curriculum the same as many International School but with much lower fees.
The school is working towards providing Cambridge IGCSE Courses to enable ALL students to register for the IGCSE Exams as private candidates through a Cambridge Centre, whilst also allowing local and mixed students to sit the local Indonesian exams.
40% of all students at the school are disadvantaged kids, and are given either free or subsidized placements.

New School Buildings and Land
Due to unforeseen circumstances the school has to move to a new location.
The new school location costs IDR 200,000,000 (approximately US 14,750) yearly for the first 5 years. There are 4 buildings on the location that need completely overhauled and land that need cleared to use as the playground. The estimated costs for renovating the buildings and land is approximately IDR 350,000,000 (US 25,813).
We would like to secure the first 5 years at IDR 200,000,000 (US 73,751) a year. As 40% of the students are free or subsidized, the school only breaks even at this time. So we REALLY need your help to secure the future of the school.

CHILDREN OF THE WORLD SCHOOL
& Learning Centre
Sponsoring a child is fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s life. Offering an opportunity to children from under-privileged and homeless backgrounds, so they can feel safe, secure and learn in an environment where qualified teachers, teach with heart, while following the professional International Standards of Education.
Our children are from all walks of life, and they come to us from ages 2 years old to 16 years old. We have classes for play group, preschool, Primary 1-6 and Secondary 7-9 and a day care service.
We offer all our children a fair and equal opportunity to excel in school and to reach their full potential, and to fulfill their dreams.
Volunteers
FUNDRAISERS
We need as many people as possible to help promote the foundation. Making individuals and businesses aware of our needs and help raise money through donation and sponsorship programs.
NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKERS
We are introducing a scheme to support other local schools who need help with learning English. Which is so important to many kids as Bali is an international tourist destination and many jobs require strong English skills.
WEB PROGRAMMER
To help develop our new website so we can promote the foundation and school globally and receive online donations.
GENERAL VOLUNTEERS
To help with many of the day-to-day tasks of running the foundation and school. As well as, helping with events and generally having a fun time hanging out with the children.
Our promise to you
We operate the foundation with the highest levels of integrity, honesty and have a transparent operational policy.
Donators and sponsors are more than welcome to visit our school and any of our projects. We also welcome you to look at the foundation’s bank statements and financial accounts at any time.
Everyone working within the foundation is a volunteer and offers their services free of charge. This means 100% of all money raised goes directly to helping children.

DOROTHY SUMMERS
Dorothy is the founder of Children of the World Foundation (Yayasan ABC Anak Dunia) and Children of the World School & Learning Centre. She has dedicated the last nearly 14 years to helping kids with passion and heart to ensure that all children of Bali who need help…. Get help. She fights to give them a better and secure future.
Dorothy is known to all the students and parent as Miss Dee. She is originally from Scotland and has spent most of her working life dealing with social issues. Miss Dee has experience working with abuse of all levels, drugs, alcohol and child exploitation.
